The
Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is again offering a reward
for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved
in the 2005 shooting death of a Compton man.
Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke proposed reestablishing the $5,000 offering,
which the board unanimously approved Tuesday, May 6.
Marvin Lewis, 41, was gunned down June 25, 2005 in front of his home
in the 1000 block of West Palmer Street. According to detectives, as
Lewis stepped outside, a white sports utility vehicle pulled up and
the right front passenger opened fire, hitting Lewis several times.
The vehicle was last seen heading west on Palmer, according to detectives.
Anyone with information about the killing is asked to call Sheriff's
Detectives Jeff Leslie and Eddie Brown at (323) 890-5500.
The reward was originally offered on Jan. 9, 2007. It was again offered
on July 3, 2007. The board last extended the reward on Oct. 2, 2007.
