Celebrity Collaboration at Compton’s Carver Elementary School
Actress Cheryl Hines, Endeavor Talent Agency and Principato-Young Entertainment take over Carver for a day

Inspired by Carver Elementary School’s pride and energy, actress Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) brought together her team, including her talent agency, Endeavor Talent Agency, and her management company, Principato-Young Entertainment, to host a volunteer day at the school on Friday, April 20. More than 50 employees, associates and clients from both top-notch entertainment firms joined Hines to spend several hours mentoring students in test preparation skills and reading, providing a rare opportunity for students to receive crucial personalized attention as they prepare for upcoming literacy exams.

Hines has been actively involved with Compton Unified School District’s Carver Elementary School since being introduced to the students and the principal, Dr. Jacqueline Sanderlin, earlier this year. Through her generosity, support and involvement, the school has undergone several beautification projects, including the repainting of the campus, renovation of the teachers’ lounge, addition of playground equipment and the planting of flowers.

“We are so grateful to have been adopted by Ms. Hines, Endeavor and Principato-Young,” said Sanderlin. “We appreciate all those who came out and took over our school for the day. On behalf of the students, parents and staff, I’d like to say we are truly touched by this unforgettable experience.”

Endeavor is one of the entertainment industry’s leading talent agencies, representing such actors as Ben Affleck, Jude Law, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Keira Knightley, Diane Lane and Diane Keaton. The agency also packages such hit films and television series as “Babel,” “The Departed,” “Heroes,” “Ugly Betty” and “The Office.”

The Endeavor Foundation was created in March 2000 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the founding of Endeavor and to provide the agency and its employees an opportunity to give back and to make a difference in the communities where the company does business and in which its employees live. Its mission is to invest in programs that address issues of social service and promote the value of the arts to enhance the lives of children, youth and families in underserved communities. The foundation values the unique assets and needs of the diverse people of Los Angeles and supports programs that facilitate self-sufficiency, foster cultural richness and strengthen human potential.

Principato-Young Entertainment is a management and production company founded in 2000 by Peter Principato and Paul Young. The company has produced the television hits “Reno 911!” and “Campus Ladies” as well as the movies “Let’s Go to Prison” and “Reno 911: Miami!”
