The city of Compton in conjunction with Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Tau Tau Chapter and KJLH hosted the Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway 2006 last Tuesday, drawing hundreds of residents in need to the Compton Civic Center searching for a little assistance in completing a traditional holiday feast. Participants had to register to receive vouchers for their free Butterball turkeys. According to Councilman Isadore Hall, between 550 and 600 frozen birds were distributed, spreading holiday cheer to scores of Compton families.
