Chambers Get a Dash of Color

The work-in-progress mural the city hired local artist Mohammed Mubarak of Mubarak Art to adorn the eastern, outside wall of the Council Chambers with is shown Wednesday, July 16. The City Council in April awarded a $75,000, no-bid contract to Mubarak under the direction of Mayor Eric J. Perrodin to grace the wall facing Willowbrook Avenue with a 30-foot-by-90-foot mural. Additionally, he will paint two 10-foot-by-20-foot murals and provided 20 portraits that are currently hanging inside City Hall. The cost of the above mural is $30,000. Mubarak told The Bulletin at the beginning of July that it should be complete in the next 90 days. —Photo by Allison Jean Eaton
