Compton acquires water from Lakewood

By Chris Frost
Bulletin Staff Writer
COMPTON—The Compton City Council voted unanimously at its meeting on Feb. 7 to accept 1000 acre-feet of water from the city of Lakewood at no cost. The city will return 500 acre-feet of the water to Lakewood as compensation. The vote comes as welcome news to residents who feel burdened by excessive water bills loaded with additional costs like meter fees.
