COMPTON—Paramount-based nonprofit The Compton Initiative and the Compton Unified School District will hold a makeover at Walton Middle School, 900 W. Greenleaf Ave., on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 7 a.m. to noon.

Teachers, students, school staff and community members will work together to create a more welcoming learning environment. Volunteers are needed to paint, landscape, collect trash and perform other tasks where needed.
