McDonald’s to present Young Black Scholars Family Conference at Cal State Long Beach
Photo provided LOS ANGELES—McDonald’s will present the 21st Annual Young Black Scholars Family Conference on Saturday, March, 3 at California State University Long Beach. Themed “Marked for Excellence,” the free one-day conference will help prepare eighth- through 12th-grade students and their parents for the college admissions process. The conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will conclude with a mini college fair. Registration is free for all Southern California students in grades eight through 12. Individuals can register online at www.youngblackscholars.com. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all participants, free of charge, by the McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California.
Celebrating 25 years, the Young Black Scholars college preparatory program is a component of 100 Black Men of Los Angeles and has assisted more than 21,000 African- American students entering college.
The McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California is comprised of nearly 600 franchised and company-owned Mc- Donald’s restaurants in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura.
