COMPTON—A recent wave of home invasion burglaries has mobilized the network of neighborhood block clubs, as the group held a special meeting to address concerns.

COMPTON—A sewage spill at Rosecrans and Tajauta avenues in the Hub City has officials searching for answers and solutions that will prevent a recurrence.

Published reports say the spill allegedly traveled via the storm drain system to Long Beach, ultimately closing beaches because of contamination.

COMPTON—The Compton Unified School District disclosed a questionable hiring policy during a heated Personnel Commission meeting on Thursday, Feb. 16.

Interim Personnel Director Dr. Matthew Spencer revealed the district policy on hiring substitute and provisional employees, saying recruitment is done by word of mouth.
